The Gathering Place: a refuge for rebuilding lives
MISSION STATEMENT: The Gathering Place exists to support women and their children who are experiencing homelessness or poverty by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency.
-
The Gathering Place is Denver's only daytime drop-in center for women and children who are experiencing homelessness and poverty in Denver.
-
Our emergency support services provide immediate relief to women and children in distress. Women who are able to meet their immediate and urgent needs can then collect their inner resources and make positive life changes for themselves and their children.
-
The Gathering Place provides programming and services to an average of 365 women and children every day.
-
On November 30, 2009, The Gathering Place served 649 women and children in a single day, making this our busiest day since opening in 1986.
